A bactericidal antibiotic from the beta-lactam family of the penicillin A group, amoxicillin is active mainly on cocci (streptococci, pneumoccci, enterococci, gonococci and meningococci). The product sometimes acts on certain Gram negative germs such as Eacherichia coll, Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella, Shigella and Haemophilus influenza.

Amoxicillin diffuses into most tissues and biological fluids (sinus, CSF, saliva, urine, bile etc. Passes through the placental barrier and into breast milk.

The product has a very good digestive absorption.

DIRECTIONS

Infections and superinfections with sensitive germs in their respiratory, ENT, urinary, genital and gynecological and septicaemic manifestations;

Meningeal, digestive and hepatobiliary infections, endocarditis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Allergies to beta-lactam antibiotics (penicillins and cephalosporins);

Infectious mononucleosis (increased risk of skin phenomena) and Herpes.

SIDE EFFECTS

Allergic manifestations (urticaria, eosinophilia, angioedena, difficulty breathing or even anaphylactic shock);

Digestive disorders: (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, candidiasis);

Immunoallergic manifestations (anaemia, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia...).

DOSAGE:

Adult: 1 to 2g per day in 2 doses;

In case of severe infections: increase the dosage

ADMINISTRATION MODE:

Oral route: capsule or tablet to be swallowed with a little water;

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:

-In case of pregnancy and breastfeeding

-In case of renal insufficiency: reduce the dose.

DRUGS INTERACTIONS:

-With methotrexate, there is an increase in the hematological effects and toxicity of methorexate;

-With allopurinol, there is an increased risk of skin phenomena.
